Intro: The WW-7 is our widest Medium Crackle wooden wick, a full 1″ wide and 6″ long. This powerhouse wick is made for the largest container candles (around 4.5″ diameter, up to ~5″). It generates a robust flame with the most pronounced crackling sound – truly reminiscent of a miniature campfire in a candle. WW-7 wicks are excellent for big centerpieces or multi-wick replacement (instead of using multiple smaller wicks, one WW-7 might suffice). They work with all waxes, though testing is strongly recommended at this extreme size. For very difficult waxes like pure beeswax in a huge container, even this wick might require a booster or multi-wick setup. But for most large soy/paraffin candles, WW-7 will deliver a dramatic and satisfying burn.

• Great Hot Throw: The large flame creates a deep and extensive melt pool, which in turn releases a lot of fragrance. If you’re making a heavily scented candle in a big jar, this wick helps carry the fragrance throughout the room.

• Sturdy and Safe: Even at 1″ width, the wick stays rigid and is easily held by our metal clip. The clip keeps the big flame elevated off the jar bottom for safety. As always, keep the wick trimmed to prevent any soot – with proper care, WW-7 burns clean for its size.

• USA-Sourced Wood: Made from thick, high-quality wooden material sourced in the USA. The natural grain of the wood is what creates the signature crackle. There are no additives – just pure wood that has been precision-cut for optimum burning in large candles.

Usage Instructions:

1. Clip and Position: Insert the WW-7 wick into a metal wick clip (sold separately). Center it in your container (for a very large jar, measure to be sure it’s right in the middle). Use a strong adhesive, as this wick is a bit heavier. The universal clip fits all sizes, including this 1″ width, securely.

2. Wax Pour: Pour your wax slowly and evenly. Given the width of WW-7, ensure the wick doesn’t tilt – you might use a wick centering tool across the jar opening to keep it perfectly upright while the wax cools. Let the candle fully set.

3. Trim Down: Trim the wick to about 1/8″ above the wax before lighting. With such a large wick, you’ll likely trim off a decent chunk before the first burn; this is normal. A shorter exposed wick will prevent the flame from becoming too large initially.

4. First Burn: Light the wick at one end and allow it to catch across its full width. For these big candles, your first burn should be long enough to melt the entire surface. This could take a few hours depending on diameter – avoid short burns that only create a small melt circle.

5. Maintenance: After burning, always trim the charred part. If you notice any performance issues (like the flame getting weak in 100% soy wax), you might test a booster wick next time. Conversely, if using a very soft wax and the flame seems too intense, trim more aggressively. Never leave a large candle unattended – while WW-7 is designed to be safe and effective, it’s a big flame that deserves respect.
