Earthy, Dirty, Slightly Green
I went my whole life until now being convinced I hated patchouli. What I smelled was always that stereotypical "hippie" scent, all bite and no charm to it. There was always something about it that made me understand why people COULD like it, but then I'd smell it again and forget all about that. On a whim I decided to try the dark patchouli, hoping it would add some depth to blends and perfumes, but also expecting to gift it to a friend if I didn't care for it. I opened up the bottle right as I got it, and took a deep breath and it smells just like a forest floor! It smells mostly like dirt, but with green notes in it. That isn't the most flattering description, but in person it's actually really wonderful and smooth. It's what I always imagined a better version of patchouli would smell like. I went from not being able to stand patchouli to it being one of my favorites!

I'd buy it again
I did the paper test. I think the oil is 100% oil without fillers. The feel between my fingers is nice. The "drop" of the oil is nice. Thick like it's supposed to be.

Very happy with the oil and happy with the service
My oil came in the mail but the container was leaking.
Things like this happen.
I notified them and within several days they sent me the difference in what was lost.

I remember the old Patchouli from the 60s also and this isn't quite it. Yes it is Patchouli and yes it is better than other versions I've gotten from sellers of essential oil, but it is still more diluted with carrier than I like.

Excellent fragrance- true scent
Except for the bottle leaking over half the oil in delivery, the quality of the Patchouli essential oil, is one of the best for what we all think of as true Patchouli.
Great value if the lid stays on tight. Was disappointed that Bulk Apothecary did not replace it, even when they agreed to.
