    A Bitter Scent

Posted by Tammie Burnsed on 6th Sep 2018

I'm not familiar with petitgrain, so maybe it's me, but I don't get the citrus or floral notes in this at all. It smells like weeds to me--a bitter, grassy scent. I'm experimenting with it, and find just a few drops can help balance the cloying sweetness of some florals. Not hating it, but not something I'd rave over either.

Nice quality Petigrain for the price

Works well in blends without being overwhelming. Adds a lot to the Citrus Blends or some Bergamot. I also like it on top of Vetiver. Very nice blending oil and adds much to all blends both for calming, meditation and relaxing.

    Unusual Scent

This smells very earthy and grassy, it overwhelms my citrus blends. I was expecting more of an orange or even floral scent, as many people compare it to neroli essential oil.

    Effective Oil

Posted by Sam on 30th Sep 2015

I probably should have given this oil a 5 star for effectiveness, but I'm really not fond of the aroma. It makes me wonder if that is the oil I received the oil I was expecting something very different after reading the other reviews! When added to a blend of more arometic oils it is fine though. To me it's a rather sharp grassy smell on it's own. That being said, it does effectively mellow out my disposition and, hopefully, it brings me into better balance. Had the YL scan not said that I desperately need this oil in my system, I might have given up on it.

I adore this oil! So beautiful mixed with bergamot in massage oil or hand cream. I've been using this combination on my son before bed and it calms him.
