Common charcoal is manufactured out of coal, peat, wood, petroleum or even coconut shells. “Activated charcoal” is made by manufacturers heating common charcoal in the presence of a gas that causes the charcoal to develop internal spaces or pores that allow activated charcoal to trap chemicals. It is for this reason that activated charcoal is often used to absorb toxic substances.
(California Proposition 65 Statement): This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Great quality and price for the amount. It's very fine powder so a little goes a very long way.

I haven't tried Activated Charcoal yet, but I've heard it will help get rid of toenail fungus.
If anyone knows the method and amount to use, for this purpose, I would very much like to read about it here, so I know how much to order.

I bought it to make face masks with, and I read it can be used in tooth polish as well. I have been brushing my teeth with it for a couple of weeks, have not made face mask but I intend to. My teeth feel pretty good, I assume it will take a while for any whitening to be noticeable though.

This is my newest ingredient to add in! Absolutely in love with anything charcoal! I use this with Indian healing clay and a moisturizer to create a mask! ♡

When I bought my first quantity at the pharmacy, they had to order it overnight and I was warned it was $50. Well, it was OVER &50 and I got....one ounce! Then I found Bulk Apothecary on line and was very pleased to spend a little more than half of what I'd spent at the pharmacy and got a whole POUND. Thank you, Bulk Apothecary!

I use this to brush my teeth, as a detox in my water, as a facial mask, and to do my own vegan make-up.
