Made my lotion creamy and helped reduce the amount of grease from the oils.
Great product and is great unscented or mixes well with essential oils.
Try the Butter Cream they have, it's thicker. Maybe you can mix the 2 instead of adding regular lotion for thickness.
I read all these fabulous reviews and given BA's comment "no thickening required" my expectation was a moderately thick lotion. Runny and flows as freely as milk. Very, very disapointed. Is there a way to thicken this? I have a gallon of milky, runny stuff.
I mix this lotion with a bottle of the premium lotion & some melted shea oil; this makes it thicker; I have ordered this a couple times & love the way it comes together for gifts at Christmas
Not my cup of tea but that is also why I’m not making my own natural base. Since a chemical preservative is required I figured I’d use a good base which performs the way people want. There is nothing wrong with this one except it is so thin. I see why so May people use as a sunscreen base it’s perfect for that. By the time I bought this and add butters etc to thicken I’m pricing out of the price point I want to sell at. However, that being said, if my clients demand an “mostly natural” product I’ll be purchasing this one.
I got this to make sunscreen and it is excellent. I like it enough to use it as a skin moisturizer, too. I think the consistency is perfect, especially since I am mixing in zine oxide powder at 20%. I heat it up a bit and mix in the powder, which allows it to be dispensed into lotion bottles with a funnel.
I am very happy I discovered this lotion base & the fact that it's almost 80% organic is a plus! I know it already has Shea Butter in it, but to help thicken it up some, I added a little more (that's all I had on hand). Best lotion ever!!! It left my skin soft but not greasy. It works really well on my granddaughters, too, who have psoriasis. Next, I think I'll experiment with some other butters, like mango, kokum or avocado.
I ordered several bottles of this product and was disappointed when I found a chemical in the ingredients list. I wrote a review and noted as much.
I have since learned that any product that contains water must have a preservative and there are not any natural choices available that work well enough to provide safety in these products.
So let me correct my first review. The product has a great feel and absorbs into the skin leaving a soft feeling. Great for adding your own scents. Could be a bit thicker. I will buy again.
