I purchased this fragrance based on Bulk Apothecary’s website claims that it is phthalate-free, paraben-free, and safe for use in lotions, shampoo, and soaps. The scent itself is a nice lavender-vanilla blend.

However, after reviewing the official SDS and IFRA documents, I found serious concerns:

The SDS states “Fatal if inhaled (vapor),” which is very different from what’s implied on the product page.

IFRA restrictions make this fragrance unsafe for most personal care applications. This means it should really be marked Candle Only.

SDS Findings Hazards:

⚠ Fatal if inhaled (vapor)

⚠ Suspected reproductive toxin (Category 2)

⚠ Contains myrcene → Prop 65 carcinogen

Key problem ingredients: Hydroxycitronellal, Benzyl benzoate, p-t-Butyl-α-methylhydrocinnamic aldehyde (linked to fertility risk)

As a small business owner who prioritizes clean, safe formulations, I feel misled by the product description. As a woman concerned with some much health concerns going on in our world especially cancer and fertility, I am disappointed. I am now going thru all of them and if you have purchased from Nature's Garden, you best check those too. Other makers should double-check SDS/IFRA before buying any fragrances.

First...I've always loved the products I've gotten from Bulk Apothecary until this FO. It smells like pure Spike Lavender and nothing else. I've been getting essential oils from this company for years and decided to try a few FO's.

I love lavender but this isn't it. it has a very metallic scent. can hardly smell the lavender in it or the vanilla. unfortunately i made a a bunch of candles and waxmelts thinking the metallic scent would go away but it didn't.

I was hoping to love this. After reading the great reviews I bought 16 oz. Won’t do that again. I don’t think it smells anything like lavender or vanilla. Very strong perfume smell. Can’t make any of my intended products with this scent. I’ll keep searching and order small amounts to test first next time.

This is my favorite lavender fragrance blend. I use this to make cold process soaps and get nothing but compliments from everyone who uses the lavender vanilla one! I can't get enough of the scent

I can't say enough good things about this fragrance. It's strong but not overpowering, floral but not perfumey, and the vanilla makes the whole thing so balanced. I've used it in sugar scrubs, whipped soap, and melt and pour so far, and it's showed up beautifully in everything. Love, love, love this fragrance. Hope they make it forever.

I've used this in scrubs, M&P soap, bath bombs, lotions and body butter, I've never had any issues or discoloration and I've never used vanilla stabilizer with it. Customers love the fragrance!

I just started my loc journey and wanted my scalp to smell like fresh lavender and sweet vanilla, this scent reminds me of the bath and body works Lavender and Vanilla. YUMMY!!
