    Turns Scrub Gray

Posted by Trista Page on 16th Nov 2023

I used this as an exfoliant in my foaming sugar scrub along with fine sugar. I didn't use very much, less than 10% of my exfoliant was this salt. While I love sugar and salt in my scrubs, I was unpleasantly surprised that this salt's charcoal turned my scrub gray. I didn't realize, stupidly on my part, that the charcoal was just a "coating" to the salt, causing the salt to LOOK black but really it's coarse white salt covered in fine charcoal powder. In the scrub, the charcoal rubbed off the salt and now my product is gray instead of white with black bits. I'm sure that's fine for a lot of applications and products but I was hoping for something different.

Activated charcoal does clear your body of toxins. I have a lot of items with this in them. I have health issues that cause pain in my joints and muscles. In the past two months I have taken pain killers two times. Plus it cleans out your pores. Give it a couple of weeks to clean pores. Big difference in my face and body pain.
The Tanamut oil and this are miracle workers for problemed skin.

    Interesting & adds some color

I am more of a freestyler when making care items. So, I mashed up a couple of different recipes to make a salt scrub. I really enjoyed the way the scrub developed a purple hue when this black salt was mixed in. Unfortunately, I gave all the scrub away before I got to try it. I will be asking follow up questions of those who received. I ordered the fine and liked the small grain size. I find large grains to be harsh on the skin.
