The story of how this blend was created comes from the legend of four thieves which was cited in a number of aromatherapy books. The basic premise of the story is that for centuries, the bubonic plague outbreaks decimated Asian and European cultures. From this period came popular legends of thieves who were captured and charged with stealing from the dead. When the thieves were finally tried, they were offered leniency if they would reveal how they avoided contracting the infection as they performed these horrible acts. They revealed a concoction of herbs and vinegar known as thieves oil that they rubbed on themselves before committing their crimes. As time went on, researchers have taken the essential oils from some of these herbs sited in the legend and applied them to popular essential oil blends. It is important to note this is a legend and should not be used to support theories that thieves oil can prevent the bubonic plague or any other disease or infection.

Uses for our version of
Thieves Essential Oil
Thieves oil is a proprietary blend of essential oils that was made popular by Young Living. Because of the popularity of this oil many large companies in the aromatherapy industry have created compare to products that mimic the thieves essential oil recipe. - Add 3 to 4 drops of the essential oil to our best essential oil diffuser and diffuse for approximately 20 to 30 minutes to freshen the air in your home or workplace
- Make a 2% dilution of the essential oil blend in a base of fractionated coconut oil for use on your skin. This can also be mixed with your favorite massage oil for a muscle soothing massage.
- Breath it in by mixing 2% oil with hot water and breathe in the vapors.(be careful not to get too close and risk hot water splashing up on you or getting burned by the hot pan. )
- Fill a spray bottle with water and add the essential oil blend at a 2% dilution to make an all-purpose cleaning spray, which can be used on countertops, desks, and other surfaces. Make sure to shake before using, as the oil and water will naturally separate.

Illness free winter
I use this oil in my diffuser every night. I have gone through the entire winter without a cold,flu or my usu al sinus infection. It also gives my bedroom a delightful clean fragrance. I sleep better also.

Great altenative
I bought this because my friend has Thieves and said it is a must to clean the air and keep you from getting sick. I use it with purification in my classroom every Friday after the kids are dismissed. Alot of my kids have been out sick lately until I started using this. It smells and seems to work just as well as the YL version

Love Thieves Aroma
This product has a great aroma for a product that is supposed to help guard against cold/flu. Can't comment on how well that helps but it is pleasant to diffuse - I diffuse at bedtime. Cost comparatively is awesome. My only complaint on the blends is that the labeling is very hard to read - print is way to small to read quickly.
