Uses for Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Eucalyptus essential oil is harvested from the leaf of the eucalyptus plant and is found all over the world. While its benefits have been known for hundreds of years, it wasn’t until recently that it began to be used commercially. It is a pale, yellow liquid that is used primarily as an antiseptic or fragrance, but is also has a range of other uses and is often useful for treating many common health ailments (most commonly, flu and cold symptoms, congestion, and as an anti-bacterial agent). It can be found in many hygiene, soaps and analgesic products, and it offers some very specific benefits.

Where to buy Eucalyptus Oil:

We have been told by many customers that we have the best price on wholesale eucalyptus oil. However, there are many places online that carry it. We do strongly recommend though that you find a good supplier and stick with them. There are many unscrupulous suppliers of wholesale essential oils that are selling inferior products. If you have any doubt, simply ask the supplier for a C of A (Certificate of Analysis) for the oil in question.

History:

Also known as ‘Eucalyptus globulus’, but variations include: eucalyptus radiate, eucalyptus citriodora and eucalyptus dives. The original eucalyptus tree was found in Australia and belonged to the Myrtacae family. The trees grow up to 480 feet tall in damp areas, typically in hillsides or valleys with deep soil.

Disclaimer:

The strong aroma and menthol content should be avoided during pregnancy. This oil should also NOT be taken orally as it can be toxic.

  • Eucalyptus Oil

    by PJL – 13th Aug 2013

I read that eucalyptus oil diluted in water can be sprayed to keep insects away. I ordered the eucalyptus globulus oil and have been mixing four ounces in 1 1/2 gallons of water and spraying our horse barn daily. The flies hate it and it makes the barn smell great. I have nothing to compare to, but the quality of this company's product seems excellent.

  • Great and strong

    by Jen – 30th Jun 2013

I purchased the lemon eucalyptas oil to use in my homemade house cleaner, as it is a bug deterant. I enjoy the smell, but visitors in my home who do not use oils found it strong. I would suggest airing out the home for a day if using this in a cleanser, but it worked great!
