I have used wax from the same company for years but recently the quality has varied. When I had to start using a heat gun to fill in sink holes I knew it was time to find a new wax. I decided to try IGI 4627 PARAFFIN based on the one review that was posted. I LOVE IT! Once I got past the unfamiliar consistency and made a batch I was hooked! I do find that I don't need to use as much color as the wax absorbs it very readily.

This can take up to 2 ounces of fragrance per pound of wax. I usually do 1 and half ounces per pound. I use a wide mouth pint canning jar and 62-52-18 wick. This will give a really strong scent every time. Love the wax so much. Many people complain of its Vaseline like consistence. I find this part very easy. I cut all 4 corners down the side of the block. I then peel the plastic down so I can cut blocks out of it with the knife. The knife has a 9 in smooth blade. The knife can be heated with a heat gun for ease of slicing but does not need to be. I also keep a kitchen dough scraper to lift out what I cut. Which can also be heated with a heat gun for ease of lifting. It's optional. I use a heat gun after the candle is made to melt a perfectly smooth top also. This wax is one of the best on the market. So glad it is now being sold at bulk apothecary. I have purchase most of my supply's from them and have always had top quality products and Sevice from them. I also love their premium lotion and essential oils. I wish I could buy tins from them for the candles I make.
