Recipe: Vanilla Mocha Soap

Nothing says winter like a warm cup of something delicious! Whether your go-to is a cup of hot coffee, a creamy latte, or a mug of hot chocolate, it’s a cozy feeling to curl up with your favorite warm drink on a cold winter’s day. It warms the soul (and the body!). For me, just the scent sends me to a happy place. In the winter I love the smell of a fresh pot of coffee- so much that I fill my home with scents of fragrant coffee candles! It’s like a trip to Starbucks….that smell when you walk through the door- heavenly.

Mmmmm…..I just love it!

I also love this next soap recipe! Mochas are my absolute favorite when it comes to coffee based drinks. I love the sweet creamy flavor and vanilla is typically my standard order. So when I came across a recipe that brought together my favorite drink and a moisturizing soap base- I knew it would be a winner in my books.

Check it out for yourself!

Vanilla Mocha Soap

Here’s what you’ll need:

1 lb. Goat Milk Stephenson Melt and Pour Soap Base, cubed
1/4 cup brewed coffee
coffee grounds
10 drops vanilla essential oil
soap mold

Here’s what you’ll do:

1. Brew one pot of coffee and reserve the coffee grounds.
2. Cut soap into cubes and place in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat using 30 second intervals and stirring in between.
4. Once the base has completely melted, remove from the microwave and add the vanilla essential oil. Slowly incorporate 1/4 cup of coffee and coffee grounds and blend well.
5. Pour the mixture into the molds and allow to set for 4-6 hours before unmolding and using.

Enjoy!
