This recipe makes it so easy to turn your favorite store-bought fragrances into homemade products. Sugar chick fragrance oil is the Bulk Apothecary version of a Philosophy favorite- and it doesn’t disappoint. I used it to take a sugar scrub to a whole new level and I’m so happy with the way it turned out!

If you haven’t noticed, Bulk carries a bunch of fragrances that smell just like your store favorites. So why not make your own versions?!

Here’s how I made mine:

You’ll need:

2 cups Sugar

1 cup Coconut Oil

1/2 cup Jojoba Oil

Sugar Chick Fragrance Oil

Matte Orchid Mica Powder

Mason Jar

Combine the sugar, coconut oil, and jojoba oil into a bowl.

Using the back of a large spoon, mash the ingredients together little by little. The coconut oil will begin to soften as you do this and the blending will become smoother. If you’re pressed for time, soften the coconut oil in the microwave before adding it to the mixture. It will make blending the ingredients super quick.

Scent your sugar scrub with the fragrance oil making it as lightly scented or as heavily scented as you’d like. I used about 1 teaspoon for a soft, subtle smell.

Now add in your color. This too is based on your preference. I just wanted a light hint of color to compliment my light fragrance, so I only added a sprinkle. Thoroughly blend the color into the scrub to be sure it’s evenly dispersed and all lumps of sugar or coconut oil are smoothed out.

It should looks similar to this when you’re all done.

Carefully scoop the scrub mixture into lidded jars or containers for storage. When ready, gently massage into damp skin and rinse with warm water. The oils will nourish and soften the skin, the sugar will gently exfoliate, and the fragrance oil will linger leaving you with soft, silky, sweetly fragrance skin!

  1. Love this sooooo much! Made umpteen batches of it–just like this only I substituted avocado oil when I ran out of jojoba. Smells heavenly, easy to make, and makes your skin wonderfully soft and silky. Plus, fabulous gifts that everyone enjoys!
