Minty Salt Scrub Recipe

Hey Bulkers!

Minty Salt Scrub 1

Here’s a quick little recipe that will soften that dry winter skin and invigorate your senses. Packed with nourishing oils and aloe vera, it will leave your skin so silky and smooth that you’ll be tempted to book a tropical vacation just to show it off!

It’s quick. It’s easy. It’s wonderful.

Here’s how to make it…

Minty Salt Scrub 2

You’ll need:

1 1/2 cups Dead Sea Salt (fine or coarse)

1/4 cup Sweet Almond Oil

1/4 cup Grapeseed Oil

1 tsp Aloe Vera

1 tsp Peppermint Essential Oil

Red Mica Powder (optional for color)

Glass or Plastic Jar for storing

Minty Salt Scrub 3

This fragrance is SURE to wake you up! If you’re anything like me and sink into hibernation during the long winter months- this oil will awaken your senses and bring you right out of that winter funk.

Minty Salt Scrub 5

Start by mixing all of the wet ingredients together in a bowl. Stir together the sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil and aloe.

Minty Salt Scrub 6

Add in the fragrance with the peppermint essential oil. You can adjust this amount if you would like. Make sure the strength suits your preferences. 1 tsp was perfect for me.

Minty Salt Scrub 7

Mix the mica powder into the salts until you achieve an even color throughout.

Minty Salt Scrub 8

I didn’t over-color the salts because once the wet ingredients are added the mixture will deepen in color.

Minty Salt Scrub 9

Pour the wet ingredients over the dry salts and begin to blend using a large spoon.

Minty Salt Scrub 10

See how much darker the color has become?! I love it! Keep on mixing until both the dry and wet ingredients are thoroughly blended together.

Minty Salt Scrub 11

Carefully scoop the mixture into a lidded jar, being sure to transfer every last ounce of the oils (you want all of the oil for the nourishing and moisturizing aspect of the scrub).

Minty Salt Scrub 12

To use: Gently massage over damp skin and rinse with water. Pat dry. Massage the remaining oil on the surface into the skin for the softest, smoothest, silkiest skin ever!

*When using scrubs, especially ones with salt, be mindful of any scrapes or paper cuts you may have!

I keep mine beside my sink to keep my hands soft and nourished!

  1. Can you exchange with sugar? I have seen sugar scrubs or this that a whole different recipe? Thanks for sharing this.

  2. I’m new to making salt scrubs. I didn’ t understand the recipe you provided for the Minty Salt scrub. If I’m using 1 c salts, then what amount should I use for the sweet almond and grape seed oils? You didn’t provide those amounts in the recipe.
I really love your website and the supplies I’ve ordered in the past have been the BEST.
    Thank you, Darla.

      1/2 cup Sweet Almond Oil
      1/2 cup Grapeseed Oil

  3. Is there any way to make this last longer than 2 – 4 weeks? Is it the aloe that makes this such a short-lived scrub?
