While you may not be fighting the symptoms of illness, you’re definitely fighting to stay awake- which can make the work day ahead of you seem like a battle. Whether you find yourself in a similar situation, or you yourself have fell prey to the nasty flu virus, vapor discs are an excellent way to clear your head, clear your sinuses, and give you that boost of energy you’ll need to make it through your day.

Directions:

Mix together the baking soda and the water, forming a paste (this may be lumpy but don’t worry- the lumps will settle). Scoop the mixture into your silicone mold and let cool. Once cool, add one of the following essential oil blends to the top of each disc.

Cold Relief Blend

6-8 drops (per disc) Peppermint Essential Oil

6-8 drops (per disc) Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Headache Relief Blend

3 drops (per disc) Lavender Essential Oil

3 drops (per disc) Peppermint Essential Oil

3 drops (per disc) Chamomile Essential Oil

Energy Blend

1 drop (per disc) Rosemary Essential Oil

1 drop (per disc) Peppermint Essential Oil

2 drops (per disc) Cinnamon Essential Oil

Relaxation Blend

1 drop (per disc) Chamomile Essential Oil

2 drops (per disc) Lavender Essential Oil

2 drops (per disc) Sandalwood Essential Oil

To use, simply place a disc in the bottom of the shower before turning on the water. Allow the water to run for a few minutes prior to stepping in so that the vapors have an opportunity to fill the shower. Step in, breathe deeply, and enjoy!

    1. Sorry for the confusion! Baking is an alternative way to make the discs. Some prefer to just let them cool, while others like to pop them in the oven at appr. 350 degrees for roughly 10 minutes to heat together the ingredients before cooling. Either way works!

  1. When I heated my bath fizzies/disks in the oven they rose a little like bread might! I have found metal cupcake pans easier to retrieve the disks from than silicone.
