‘Tis the season everyone!!! Nope, I’m not talking about fall. Or Halloween. Or Thanksgiving. Or even Christmas (yes I’m aware that Christmas is months away, but tell that to all of the stores that already have their isles packed with ornaments and garland! I’m not ready for that yet!).
You know what season I’m talking about.
Pumpkin Spice Latte Season!
I’m not lying- it really is my favorite time of the year. Aside from so many things that I adore about fall, the return of my absolute favorite drink at Starbucks tops my list for sure. It makes any day a better day in my book, and I go there pretty much every day, so all of my days are great days (or at least better days!). SO- in honor of my most favorite time of year, here’s a recipe that captures that amazing spicy pumpkin aroma and pairs it with a nourishing, skin loving oil that will leave your body feeling silky soft. And with the addition of ground coffee, you’ll also get the benefit of a little caffeine- which can reduce the appearance of cellulite! Woohoo!!
Get ready for the best shower ever!
Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
2 heaping tablespoons of ground coffee
1-2 Tablespoons of pumpkin pie spice
Clear Plastic Jars(2 or 4 oz. for this recipe. If you are making large quantities, you can use a larger jar)
Mix the sugar, coffee, and pumpkin pie spice together making sure each ingredient is well incorporated (Stirring with a fork or using a whisk can help to evenly blend things before adding in the oil). Pour the oil over the sugar/coffee/spice mixture and stir well before transferring into an airtight container. Like always, I push for using a pretty container for packaging and storing your homemade goods. It makes the entire process complete and enables you to display it on your sink or beside the bathtub. Show it off! If you’ve put forth the effort to make it, go the extra mile and make it look just as nice as it smells and feels! You’ll enjoy all of the compliments you’ll get when your guests see it in the powder room or next to the kitchen sink.
So on those days when you wake up a little too late to make it to Starbucks before work, at least you’ll get your pumpkin spice fix during your morning shower! Close your eyes and inhale deeply, you may just forget that you’re not actually sipping the real deal.
