Recipe: Java Lip Balm

I’m a coffee addict. Give me the smell of a coffee shop any day and I’m a happy camper! I love to drink it. I love to smell it. I love to taste it (preferably in ice cream). And now, I LOVE to gloss my lips up with it! Yes!! I’m also a lip gloss addict so this recipe totally knocks my socks off. This lip balm is so delicious I want to eat it right out of the jar (but I don’t because that’s just gross). I do, however, lick it off my lips when I use it. I just can’t help it! Opening the jar is like walking straight into Starbucks- that scent is ohhhhh so intoxicating.

You too can indulge with this easy peasy project.

Here’s how:

JAVA LIP BALM

2 TBS White Beeswax

1 TBS Shea Butter

1 TBS Cocoa Butter

1/4 cup Coconut Oil

1 tsp Honey

10 drops Vanilla Essential Oil

20 drops Coffee Essential Oil

1 tsp Cocoa Powder

Aluminum Rectangle Lip Balm Tins

  1. Using a double boiler (or similar set up), melt the wax, shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil and honey over low heat stirring constantly.
  2. Remove melted mixture from the heat and whisk in the cocoa powder.
  3. After blending the cocoa powder into the mixture, stir in the vanilla and coffee essential oils until incorporated evenly.
  4. Carefully pour the mixture into the empty lip balm tins and allow to cool completely before closing the lids

Enjoy this completely delicious treat for your lips any time you feel the need for a little moisture or shine. Be sure to carry an extra tin or two in your purse- once your friends try yours they’re going to want some of their own!

Enjoy!
