Hey Bulkers!

If you’re a bath person, I’m sure you already know how wonderful scented salts can make your experience. Not only do you reap all of the benefits of Epsom salts (detoxification, relief of sore muscles, cramps, migraines…just to name a few), but you also benefit from the oils you use. Choosing specific oils can aide in relaxation, invigorate your senses, wake you up, or calm you at the end of a long day.

Making your own bath soak couldn’t be easier. The mixes can be customized by scent, benefit, color…you name it. And you can make a little, for just one bath. Or make a large batch to store or give away.

Today I made an invigorating soak to wake up your senses and leave you feeling refreshed. Its super simple- and I’ll show you how to make your own!

You’ll need:

1.5 – 2 cups Unscented Dead Sea Salt Base

Brazilian Mango Grapefruit Fragrance Oil

Color- either mica powder or liquid soap color

Mini Heremes Jar

I’ve used this fragrance oil several times before and I continue to use it for different recipes because it smells SO GOOD! It’s sweet and citrusy and fresh. I know we’re creeping up on fall weather and fragrances- but this is a scent that will wake you up and energize you, which is great during all seasons!

Place the salt base in a bowl and add the fragrance oil. I used 1 teaspoon but you can adjust this amount if you want a stronger scent.

Thoroughly mix the oil into the salt. You don’t want any clumps from the oil so really stir the mixture to be sure everything is evenly distributed.

Now, the fragrance oil will make the salt mixture a pale yellow color. You can stop there, or if you want a little extra boost visually- add in a little soap color. Mica powders and liquid soap colors both work well with salt mixtures. I made mine a brighter yellow, but you can choose any color.

Scoop the mixture into an airtight jar for storage (this will keep the fragrance from dissipating from the salts). I love the mini heremes jars for these mixtures because the seal nicely and they look really cute!

So, that was really easy, right? I told you! And you can make any fragrance and color you’d like in batches as big or small as you’d like!

To use: add a heaping scoop to running bath water. Soak for 20 minutes.

PS- gift season will be here before you know it! This recipe is a simple go-to for all of the unexpected events that pop up during the holiday season!
